"and every living thing in the sea died"

You know. Whatever.

Okay, bit of a stretch but that quote from Revelation 16:3 kind of has a ring to it. The article from the link shown below surmises that believe it or not, at the rate we're going, there won't be any seafood by the year 2048. Wow! not even fishsticks! BTW, did you know that legally the fast food industry is only required to have 15% of real fish in their fish products. The rest is basically bread. Now we can see why.

Article from the CNN News website:

"Report: Seafood Faces Collapse by 2048"

http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/science/11 ... index.html

Some excerpts from the article are below:

"Clambakes, crabcakes, swordfish steaks and even humble fish sticks could be little more than a fond memory in a few decades."

"If current trends of overfishing and pollution continue, the populations of just about all seafood face collapse by 2048, a team of ecologists and economists warns in a report in Friday's issue of the journal Science."

I saw that article in passing on the headlines and was very disturbed by it.

Do you suppose experts and powers-that-be will actually *do* something with these findings -- as in, enact some new measures to prevent this from happening?

It's amazing the havoc we wreak upon the environment -- including our food sources. Makes me wish I lived on a self-sustaining farm. ;)
