The Bible and God's word

The topic I am bringing up comes after watching several episodes of Veggie Tales. Over the past few months, I kind of gotten hooked on Veggie Tales. It took me a while, and I probably would not have watched the show if it weren't for my two oldest children. Although a little conservative for my tastes, I find the show to be funny and smart, with great writing and great songs.

Several times a show, the Bible is referred to as God's Word, as in, "Let's see what God's word says..." I often cringe when I hear this reference to the Bible--God's Word, the Word, the Word of God--because the Word of God; the logos is Christ.

So, is the Bible the Word of God, why is it the Word of God, and what does it mean to say that the Bible is the Word of God?
