Almost a Year out of Church

Postby scrivener » Sat Nov 04, 2006 10:39 pm

Man. It's been nearly a year since I've been in church.

I'm not especially worried; church has been part of my life since I was a kid, and I've taken breaks before. One thing that concerns me is that even during those breaks (like in college), I was never out of regular fellowship or bible study. Now, though, I am.

When I come down with a bad flu, I don't think I'm going to die. I just know that my body is ailing and that eventually, I'll be okay. That's been my approach lately, thinking of myself as spiritually ill, knowing I'll be well sometime.

I can feel the tug, though. I always get up in time to go to church, with every intention of going, but then I end up not going. One of these mornings I'm just going to go, and it will be normal, like I never left. I wonder if it will be soon.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.

Advent's always a good time to reconnect. I'm sure you'll be welcomed back with open arms.
I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
