Aloha from California

Introduce yourself!

Aloha from California

 Aloha,
Let me first say, "God is great". I have looked a few times at finding this type of site, but unfortunately they are far and few between.

God bless those that have developed this site. Thank you.

Here's a little about myself. I'm 42 years old, married for 10 years (Misty) and have a 10 year old daughter (Lauren). I work as a Firefighter/Paramedic in Sacramento County for the past 5 years and have been a Paramedic for nearly 18 years. OK enough blah, blah blah.

My walk with God has never been that good until a year ago when my life seemed to fall apart. I was in the middle of remodeling a house and had not been to church in about 4 or 5 months. I called my Captain at work and tried to wallow in self pity when he said, "You have worked so hard on your house that you are not working on God's house". Wow! I got hit right between the eyes with that statement. The following morning my pastor called me to have lunch. I said to myself, "this is not coincidence, it's God working through these 2 friends". My life has changed since that point.

I don't want to write a novel so I will end there. Now that you know a little about me, I pray that I will learn a little, hopefully more, about all of you.
Mahalo,
Rick

Thanks for the wonderful heartfelt introduction! I find it interesting that your captain, a professional associate, felt free to respond with such a religious message. Did he already know you were a Christian?

We're really just getting started here, so traffic's a little low, but feel free to chime in on older topics or start something fresh!
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God.

Dear scrivener, foxen and GypsyLika,

Thank you for the warm welcome.

In regards to your question about the captain I'll post a reply under the topic, Christ at Work.

It's a line from the song MELE OHANA, Kealii Reichel's Ke'aloaokamaile CD; "cared forever by God."

Malama pono.
